Empowering New Hampshire youth through opportunities, involvement, and leadership
Youth M.O.V.E New Hampshire is a chapter of Youth M.O.V.E. national, a youth-led organization devoted to improving services and systems that support positive growth and development by uniting the voices of individuals who have lived experience in various systems including mental health, juvenile justice, education, and child welfare.
Youth M.O.V.E New Hampshire is a collective advocacy voice for youth rights and mental health systems, working to ensure that our youth can become and remain successful.
The group is made up of youth and youth advocates, including supporters, parents, and professionals.
Young people have the power to change their communities and their own lives…
New Hampshire needs to recognize and accept the culture of youth, families, and the communities that serve them—or run the risk of being out-of-touch. Youth M.O.V.E engages and coaches youth to be equal partners in the reform of systems impacting youth in New Hampshire.
The organization works to ensure that every kid who enters a youth serving program is prepared for life through genuine opportunities, authentic youth involvement, and leadership throughout all systems levels.
Youth M.O.V.E works to:
- Unite voices and causes of youth in our state
- Create New Hampshire specific youth movement principles and policies
- Assist in the planning and implementation of youth leadership programs
- Advise youth, providers, families, and other adults who seek youth perspective
- Develop youth-friendly webinars, training tools, guides, and other helpful documents
Youth M.O.V.E is active on multiple steering committees that are dedicated to improving the children’s behavioral health system in New Hampshire, including the Children’s Behavioral Health Collaborative Steering Committee and the Communications and Social Marketing Workgroup.
